Welcome...

We are Cerebral Palsy Mid-Staffordshire and we offer support and information to individual members and their families.
We exist to enable adults and children to claim their rights, lead full and rewarding lives and play a full part in society. Our wider mission is to enable connection across the community to promote better mental health through the delivery of activities designed to bring people together in our welcoming and accessible space.

What is Cerebral Palsy?

Cerebral palsy is the name for a group of lifelong conditions that affect movement and co-ordination. It’s caused by a problem with the brain that develops before, during or soon after birth.

Generally speaking, the original problem with the brain does not get worse over time, but the condition can put a lot of strain on the body and cause problems, such as painful joints, in later life. The daily challenges of living with cerebral palsy can be difficult to cope with and Cerebral Palsy Mid-Staffs exists to enable those affected by Cerebral Palsy to lead fulfilling and rewarding lives. While our support is in the main directed to those with Cerebral Palsy and other lifelong conditions, the charity has recognised that many in the community can benefit from our support and our mission is to enable connection in the community to anyone who needs it, regardless of ability.
